God bless Wednesday. I want to thank to Medium because last week, I got an email which announced that I’m becoming a top writer in books and self-improvement topics. I also want to thank to you folks, who have supported me by following, clapping and subscribing to my email in Medium, it means a lot. Fuck, I never expecting to be a top writer on Medium. My advice, don’t expect anything and just do whatever makes you happy. Good things are just a bonus, mark my word.

I was doing some different activities this morning. Usually, as soon as I wake up in the morning, I directly look for my phone and surf my social media. I was doing it for almost 2 years and I think it is shit. I started to recognize that browsing our social media at the beginning of the day is not a healthy habit since I read The 5 am Club by Robin Sharma. I really recommend this book for those of you who love to read self-improvement topics.

First, I started this morning in a different way. Just before I went to sleep last night, I poured water into my bottle and put it beside my bed. Therefore, in the morning, I don’t have to get my ass up from my bed and walk 5 steps to get the water -how lazy humans in the 21st century. I think it works. Drinking a glass of water just after you wake up really boosts your mind and body, mark my word. I’m not sure but it seems that something has been moving in my brain and eyes after drinking a glass of water in the morning. I feel like I’m entering spiritual awakening, holding an AK-47 and ready to shoot my daily activity.

Secondly, after drinking a glass of water I started to do my second activity, which is workout. I know it's just day 1 since I started my new morning activity, but doing a workout in the morning is not bad at all. Walking on a treadmill and lifting a dumbbell is enough, but make sure you get sweat. If a glass of water makes me feel like holding an AK-47, then workout is the ammo. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try to do some meditating and let's see what it feels.

So, the question is why slow but steady is better than fast and steady? Well I’m not sure, but in my opinion, everything that we do is never separate from the process. When we talk about a process, then we talk about becoming. Becoming a better person, a growing person, a humble person, a kind person, and so on and so on. My point is, it doesn’t matter how hard or though the process is, we should enjoy every bit of this shit. Enjoy the process until the pain becomes your bitch.

As long as I lived, there’s no single thing in my life that happened instantly. For instance, I was part of the marching band club in my junior high school. I succeeded in blowing notes -do re mi fa sol la si do- with baritone in 1–2 month. It is not an overnight process for sure. Another thing, I’m joining a futsal club in my college. I succeeded in dribbling a ball without looking at the ball in 6 month. My major (philosophy) got first place in the men’s futsal category in the faculty olympics that day. Ooh, I miss the young time. On that day, I feel my spirit is like gold, glory and gospel just like the Dutch motto when colonizing my country lol.

Slow and steady is better than fast and steady. I think as humans we have our limits. It is because we are trapped in a cage called space and time. Humans also have a battery called energy which we gain from food. The fastest we move, it drains more of our energy. The fastest we move, it has more potential to make our process become boring. Just be slow, steady, and enjoy every bit of our process. Don’t run, just walk. It may not be fast, but it is more enjoyable. The analogy of process is like walking in the garden. You should enjoy the view, breathe its air, and go slow.

Many of us get exhausted, tired, and give up on our journey. Exactly, that is the cause of the process. Sometimes we set our goals, about what to achieve on this day, this month, this year, even this decade. However, many of us give up in the middle of our process. That’s because you are too fast my brother. You rush to achieve the result without enjoying the process.

“Nature doesn’t hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” — Lao Tzu

Be like nature. The sun is never in a hurry to rise or set. A day is never more or less than 24 hours. Evolution does not happen as fast as revolution. Yet, everything that nature does, it always accomplished. To be honest, in my opinion, the process is sometimes like a devil. A devil that whispered to us, “Just give up, you won’t get through this storm”. Be slow, and deal with it. Have peace with all processes, until you whisper back to the devil and say, “Bitch, I’m the storm…”
