Truth Hates Delay
God bless Sunday. A couple days ago, I wrote poetry because something happened in my life and it’s like your soul was ripped from your body. I can’t tell you the thing because it is too far. It makes my day getting worse, I can’t think clearly and it affects my mental health. However, as human beings we always have options. We have our logic, instinct, and sense so that we should always find a solution to a problem. I feel a lot better now, and I tried to write about what’s the meaning behind my bio — Truth Hates Delay.
I have known this word since the beginning of my college — in first semester. At that time, I was still confused about my major (philosophy). I don’t know anything about philosophy (even Socrates, Plato or Aristotle who the fuck is them). It’s my last choice (third choice) in the college entrance test. I chose this major because it is cool when I say it. “Philosophy” God damn, I don’t give a shit. I think I won’t get it. I think I will get the first or second major of my options. But, the announcement day hits me differently. I’ve got philosophy as my major and it’s my destiny. If I end up with the first or second major, I think I will never have writing as my hobby and there will be no katakurik in medium. It cannot be denied that destiny is always shocking us, and I’m grateful for it. The unexpected thing always brings joy into our life.
So, “Truth hates delay” was a quote from an Ancient Greek philosopher. His name is Sophocles. He defined what’s the meaning behind these quotes. There are also many interpretations about it with varian and different meanings. However, I would like to interpret it in my own way.
The truth that I hate delay is more related to my principle. The principle about living my life. I also consider these quotes to become my thesis motto lol. In my opinion, if we know something which is true, we should accept it whether it is a good truth or a bad truth. As Albert Camus said that, we live in an absurd live where we often facing a fucking random situation like my problems a couple days ago. We often face an absurd situation like ending up in circumstances that we never thought about before.
If we know the truth, let's say you made it to study at your dream university like Harvard, Cambridge, Imperial, Hogwarts or whatever your dream is, your body will release dopamine which will lead you to inform your parents as soon as possible. In the meantime, the process for you to achieve such dreams absolutely sucks and is tiring. It takes a day, a week, a month, even a year for you just to study therefore you find yourself prepared for the exams.
What is the truth for me to achieve my dream university? Basically, it is indeed, to study. But, studying is so boring and tiring. Indeed, it is boring and the process is so tiring but it is the fucking truth. Those who are likely to procrastinate the truth will end up with tears at the announcement day, mark my word. Therefore, truth hates delay.
However, that is the good truth, what did I do to the bad truth? Well, everyone agrees that we don’t want a bad truth to happen in our life. For instance, E score, rejection by a hundred companies, rejection from your crush, blah blah blah, and so on. I am often in these kinds of situations as well. However, it is the truth. No matter how long you hold it, it will appear to the surface as the time passes. It’s just procrastinating the sense of hurt, not erasing it.
“Tell the truth no matter how bitter the truth is” — Unknown
I remember the quotes above a couple years ago but I forget who own this quotes. If I’m not mistake, this quotes is from moslem philosopher. So yeah, I think that is the unique side of humans. Everything that you deny or ignore, you tend to delay it. However, what you accept and face, you will conquer it. Learn to accept anything and everything, then you will have peace with yourself. It is not our fault, the reality is indeed and absolutely absurd.
I’m in McDonald’s know. I cup of McFlurry seems a good idea. Good day from Tangerang. Don’t forget to breathe, folks…
