Humans are a creature that is never distinguished from meaning. The meaning which keeps us alive, day by day, time by time. We are born in this world, don’t know what we exactly want, follow society, and are forced to follow the system. Speaking about systems is always an exciting topic.

The system is how we are constructed to live to earn money. Just cut the crab; every aspect of our life is determined by a paper called “money.” It is also supported when we read Marxism’s idea about scientific socialism. The structure of human life is divided into two variables; base structure and superstructure.

Base refers to the production forces, or the materials and resources, that generate the goods society needs, while superstructure describes all other aspects of society. Simply, the base structure is all about economic forces such as money, factory, goods, etc. Meanwhile, the superstructure is all aspects besides the economy; social, cultural, religious, art, philosophy, politic, etc.

For example, God tells us to do charity to increase our chance of entering heaven. That is the economy. A tribe in the deep forest is hunting deer to feed their belly. That is the economy. Vladimir Putin's decision to attack Ukraine is absolute and can not be separated from considering the economic variables. And so on, and so on.

Ordinary people like us, who have access to the internet, can only live with the economy. Your mutual relationship with your friends, family, or parents is also an economic activity — it is always transactional. Indeed, when we talk about the economy, it is not always about money. However, the point I am trying to share with you is money because it is the thing that is very close to us.

There are two-act for us to produce money; occupation and business. Occupation, such as 9–5 workers, part-time, internship, freelance, and side job, is the activity that can produce money. The other way to earn money is by handling or setting up a business. I’m trying to tell you that both have similar skills, regardless of every field; problem-solving.

I realize that every worker is a problem solver. For instance, you are a copywriter in an agency. Your clients need your help to promote their brand on social media because, all this time, the engagement is still below another competitor. One reason for this poor performance is that the copy on the content is less creative, engaging, and monotone. That’s the problem, and your existence is the answer. Same case with janitors, doctors, lawyers, teachers, presidents, cops, and so on.

Also, every business player around this world. All business players are problem solvers. For instance, you and your mate are setting up your own clothing brand that matches current trends. Then, you design your product as cool as possible. Whether you and your mate realize it or not, you guys are using your problem-solving skills; one of the common curses of humans is fear of missing out — FOMO. The problem is this shit called FOMO, and you provide the solution.

Well, in my opinion, the easiest way to understand business is like you help X to get Y for Z. I may not be a business student, but I’m pretty sure I’m right. It’s all about pattern. Problem-solving-money, problem-solving-money.

My question to you guys, especially those who are still students or job seekers, is, what kind of a problem do you want to solve? Perhaps, all of this time, your family has been questioning the less precise question. Instead of asking, “what is your dream job?” why don’t we try, “what is the most problem you want to solve?” Because the essence of producing or earning money is always about problem-solving.
