Happy new year folks. Ah, finally we made it. How’s your 2023? Great or sucks? Please give me one word about your 2023 in the comment below. I’m genuinely curious, lol.

s for mine, if I were to sum it up, it was a genuine rollercoaster ride. The journey through 2023 took me on twists and turns in both my career and personal life. The outset was somewhat steady, but as I entered the second quarter, things got exhilarating, especially with the anticipation of spearheading a massive digital campaign for Gillette. The third quarter was nothing short of fantastic, and by the fourth, joy found me through a newfound hobby.

At the beginning of 2023, I was still immersed in my role as a Marketing Content Specialist at my previous workplace. My responsibilities encompassed crafting compelling pitch proposals, developing creative campaign ideas, utilizing data-driven approaches, conducting market research, presenting content samples, and overseeing ongoing projects. It felt akin to the role of a Digital Group Head, and surprisingly, I loved every bit of it.

Entering the second quarter, my excitement grew as I gained invaluable insights into the marketing industry from our new COO, Ria. This period marked numerous opportunities for Mediarumu, handling major brands under P&G like Gillette, Gillette Venus, Downy, Neurobion, Sangobion, Head & Shoulders, Rejoice, Dolometer, and managing P&G’s e-commerce for KOL and influencer marketing campaigns.

The third quarter of 2023 stands out as the pinnacle of my career in marketing. Gillette’s launch of the Flexi Vibe product presented a unique challenge and opportunity. A whopping Rp1 billion budget was allocated for the influencer marketing campaign, demanding swift utilization within a single week. Collaborating with dentsu Indonesia, we selected Anya Geraldine and Keanu as our main KOL, resulting in a highly successful campaign meeting key performance indicators such as views, engagement rate, and CPV. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to delve into the details of this influencer marketing strategy in another article, lol.

In the last quarter of 2024, I bid farewell to Mediarumu. While parting ways brought a tinge of sadness, it’s a truth that people come and go. However, this phase also brought immense joy as I discovered a new passion: running. Once a sports enthusiast during my college days, participating in futsal and soccer, I had let exercise take a backseat due to Covid-19 until December 2023. What a waste of time, fuck.

In December, I covered a total of 103 km, running six times a week at Gelora Bung Karno. Rediscovering the joy in an activity I loved made it all worthwhile. This concept, I believe, extends beyond running and can be applied to various life contexts, including our occupations, daily routines, and more. This year, I plan to participate in races such as Jakarta City Run 10k, 20k Merbabu Skyrace, Maybank Half Marathon, and 10k Singapore Marathon. Here’s hoping for discipline and hard work to prevail.
