Deep Digital Marketing Through Philosophical Approach by Jean Baudrillard — Simulacra
As a philosophy graduate who worked in the digital agency for almost 4 years makes me thing a lot about marketing. I have to admit that in this kind of era, for most people, social media engagement is more valuable than true love in the reality. They start posting a content on Instagram, and demand likes and comment from their circle. For some people, getting FYP content on TikTok with a million of views has more values than invest a million on self-growth or donate to the starving children on the orphanage.
I wonder why we so much in love with the imaginary world rather than true reality. For instance, kids are prefer to play with their iPad at home rather than playing football with friends. Teenages are prefer to use social media to do dumb-scrolling rather than read a book. Adults are prefer to spend time on their phones rather than had an intimate direct discussion with their beloved ones.
And I know it has a correlation with the marketing and capitalism. On how the people with power create a system that normalize something that actually abnormal. Thus, when talked about this kind…
