Certainty is a Myth

I’d rather be a warrior in a garden rather than a gardener in a war

Hi folks, how’s your day? Sucks? Good. That means you are on the right track because we won’t take any lessons if it’s easy. If you don’t take any lessons, you aren’t getting better. If you ain’t getting better, then there’s no difference between you and a cow. As far as I live and observe this reality, life is indeed an absurd thing.

It often failed and praised me at once. For instance, getting something that contradicts my desire or gaining something beyond my expectation. The good news is, I’m dealing with it. The sensation of failing, being disappointed, and being sad are sorts of things that make us human. In the utopian world of the future, when we are all able to sense happiness just with the snap of our finger, when we are all immortal, when we don’t feel hunger and thirst anymore, and we ain’t getting older, do we still called it as a “life”?

Well, a utopian world is true, not sure what will happen. Many argue that humans will make it to create a utopian world, and vice versa. A lot of scientists do some research and experiment with it. However, still, we can’t conclude or prove will humans make it or not. Therefore, certainty in this world is a myth. Same case as the debate about the existence of God, heaven, hell, love, career, and so on. Even Cristiano Ronaldo can get all stuff that he wants in this world. but, does he happy? I would say no. He misses being an average man like us, where we can walk down the street, and have a cup of coffee without any distraction from paparazzi and media. Again, life is true, absurd. Albert Camus is a savage.

My opinion is, if humans make it, then I would like to say this “utopian” will destroy every power because we are all equal, and we don’t need to chase anything. When we are all equal, and chase nothing, then there will be no clash of self-interest. This clash of self-interest is the gasoline of power. When we erase this clash of self-interest, what will happen? You tell me.

Finally, we are all living in happiness. Nobody harms each other. Fuck off climate change, and patriarchy. We succeeded in living in harmony with all creatures. We don’t feel suffering and pain. We are all immortal, and not getting older. But…

Did you ever think about what makes our life? I mean, really “life”. As far as I live, I concluded that human beings can not live without meaning. We can’t separate meaning from our life. This meaning came from our desire. Our desire came from a problem that we haven’t yet solved. For instance, you get to work because your belly needs food, you have a family to take care of, you have a community that you want to impress, etc. Therefore, work then becomes your meaning. Same thing with going to school, running a business, and retiring. It all means a lot to us, and yes, it is the meaning.

When we could get all kinds of stuff, and all sensations that we want just with the snap of our finger or simply by clicking a button beside our bed, everything become instant, then we erase the term of progress. If we erase the progress, then say goodbye to desire. When we don’t want anything, when we desire nothing, then, we erase meaning. Congratulations on killing power and becoming God, Marx is finally happy for you, but welcome to nihilist states. Therefore, a utopia will bring dehumanization.

Again, this didn’t happen yet, and it is surely not certain. It is just my poor logic playing here, we don’t have to scare lol. The utopian world is not certain. We don’t fucking know will human make it or not. Therefore, we should be grateful to be in this era, where there was still meaning, desire, problems, and progress. We are still busy chasing some shit. Same case as God. I still hold my faith because there is no single research or experiment on this earth that proved the existence of God. My point is, I’d rather be a warrior in a garden rather than a gardener in a war.

Sadly, most people didn’t aware of this. They interpret progress and problems as bad things. It is fatiguing. It seems people nowadays is like designed to can’t feel suffer, especially millennials (in my country) who have to go to their psychologist just after they got scolded by his / her boss. Motherfucker. Even though, this suffering is actually the source of our happiness. Selamat siang from Jakarta, and have a beloved Wednesday…
